Application Process
Please see the full Grants Policy for the requirements of applying, any restrictions and monitoring of how funds are used.
Applying on behalf of an Individual or Family
Agencies and professionals like a support worker, social worker, case officer, health visitor, senior teacher or lecturer, minister of religion or local councillor can submit an application. In all cases they must know the applicant personally and be qualified to assess their need.
Grants are typically for everyday/practical items or expenses including white goods, furniture or furnishings that are under £500 value (see the 'Who We Help' page for more). The request will be processed by the Hertfordshire Community Foundation (HCF) who ensure there is a minimal delay in getting funding to people in need. Their guidance notes are here. Grant recipients must be permanently housed (or have a secure offer of housing) in the parishes of Ware, Wareside and Thundridge.
Apply for an Education-Related Grant for an Individual or Family
You can apply for a grant for yourself or your family if it falls under the category of education (think school expenses, training, school trips, uniform etc). These applications need to be submitted to a partner organisation, the Ware Skillman Charity. Skillman assist in the provision of recreational or educational facilities for young people in the interests of social welfare and improving their conditions of life. Click the link below or email: skillmantrust@outlook.com with a brief description of your request and they will be in touch.
Applying for an Organisation or Group
Grant applications can be made by a charity, community group or local voluntary organisation with their own constitution (or similar), a dedicated bank account and that operates in or provides a service to the community.
